2017 Competition Kickoff!

Dear Creative Computational Types,

Following on the success of last years Turing Tests in the Creative Arts, The Neukom Institute for Computational Science at Dartmouth College is pleased announce a new competition aimed at spurring further progress in machine-made creative work in the literary and collaborative arts. Specifically, the 2017 Turing Tests in the Creative Arts will have four challenges:

PoetiX - Software able to generate sonnets indistinguishable from human-written sonnets (the same challenge as in 2016)

DigiLit - Software able to complete a short story in a manner indistinguishable from a body of human-generated completions (different from the 2016 challenge)

AccompaniX - Software able to accompany a human musician in a classical duet or jazz jam

AlgoRhythm - Software able to generate a digital dance partner for a human dancer

Prizes will be awarded. Details can be found here: http://bregman.dartmouth.edu/turingtests . Entries will be due May 15th, 2017.

We look forward to receiving your work. Any inquiries should be directed to Dan Rockmore, Director of the Neukom Institute.
